Embed videos

You can embed Loom, YouTube, Vimeo and Google Drive videos so clients watch them right inside TaxDome. Whether a video plays for your client depends on its sharing settings in the provider’s own app.

Where you can embed videos

Embed a video

To embed a video:

  1. In Loom, YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive, set the video’s sharing settings so your clients can watch it.

  2. Copy the video link.

  3. In TaxDome, click the image icon or Embed video, depending on where you’re adding the video. Paste the link, then click Save.

Sharing settings by provider

Before you embed a video, check that its sharing settings let your clients watch it:

Provider Required sharing setting
Loom Set the video’s access to Anyone with the link. Videos limited to your Loom workspace or to people you add play only for viewers signed in to Loom with access.
YouTube Set visibility to Public or Unlisted, and keep Allow embedding selected in YouTube Studio. Private videos play only for people the owner shared them with.
Vimeo Use a privacy setting that lets anyone with the link watch the video. If you limit embedding to specific domains, add both your taxdome.com subdomain—the portal URL shown in Settings > Firm settings—and your custom domain if you use one. The mobile app always opens videos from the taxdome.com subdomain.
Google Drive Set the file’s General access to Anyone with the link.

Troubleshooting

What you’re seeing Fix
The video plays for you, but your client sees an error, a sign-in prompt or a “video unavailable” message instead You’re likely signed in to the provider with access to the video, while your client isn’t. Update the video’s sharing settings for its provider, then ask your client to reload the page.
A Vimeo video limited to specific domains doesn’t play in TaxDome Add both your taxdome.com subdomain—the portal URL shown in Settings > Firm settings—and your custom domain, if you use one, to the video’s allowed domains in Vimeo. The mobile app always opens videos from the taxdome.com subdomain.
Your client sees a blank screen instead of a Vimeo video in the mobile app Unlisted and domain-restricted Vimeo videos play in the client mobile app from version 3.35.1. Ask the client to update the app.
Only Loom, YouTube, Vimeo and Google Drive videos are allowed The link is from a different provider. Upload the video to Loom, YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive, then paste that link instead.
